Since its creation in 2012, the Design Excellence Recognition Program has shone a light on the innovation and problem-solving skills required of today’s golf course designs, whether the project is a small bunker renovation or a full-scale 18-hole layout. Projects from 12 courses in the United States and Asia have been cited for their work with ASGCA members in addressing unique design challenges. The third annual American Society of Golf Course Architects Design Excellence Recognition Program recipients have been named. Launched in 2003, Sequoia acquired the original seven Canongate properties in south Atlanta for approximately $55 million from the Patten Seed Company that was controlled by the Roquemore family. Sequoia was created by Guerra and its founding partner Parthenon Capital, which has worked with the company since its inception.
